The kitchen is yours in Toca Boca Cooking, and nobody complains if the recipe goes sideways. Chop the vegetables, throw surprising things in the pot, and serve whatever comes out - the reactions are half the fun.
Cooking games usually score you against a recipe. This one doesn't: you experiment. Combine ingredients that don't belong together, discover combinations that actually look delicious, and plate them however you like.
The controls are the usual Toca drag-and-drop, so even small kids can run the kitchen alone: drag an ingredient to the board to chop it, to the pan to cook it, to the plate to serve.
Put something sweet in a soup and watch the character's face when they taste it. The "wrong" reactions are the best-drawn animations in the game.
